Application Deadlines:
· Fall Semester: Feb 15
· Spring Semester: October 15
Note: Review of applications begins on deadline date; please have all materials submitted to Graduate College two weeks prior to deadline to ensure receipt in School Psychology Program office.

Applicants must complete two applications: one for the Texas State Graduate College and one for the School Psychology Program:

· 3 Reference Letters: There is no standard form.  Letters should be from faculty members and individuals that can evaluate your potential for success in graduate school.  Letters should be sent to: Texas State University, Dept. EAPS, Dr. Cynthia Plotts, 601 University Drive, San Marcos, TX 78666

· Copy of All Transcripts: Documentation of undergraduate prerequisites in Abnormal Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Statistics

· Statement of Intent: Provide a typed, 2-3 page, double-spaced statement that addresses the following:
    1. Your professional goals.
    2. Why you are pursuing training in School Psychology rather than in other mental health disciplines (e.g. school counseling, clinical psychology, marriage and family counseling).
    3. Considering your total application, what you consider to be your major strengths and weaknesses with respect to being admitted into the program.

Your Statement of Intent will be evaluated for content, style, and quality.


Admission requirements for School Psychology M.A.:
Acceptance into TX State Graduate College
Acceptance into the TX State School Psychology Program
GRE Score: 900 (Preferred)
GPA for last 60 hours of bachelors degree: 3.0 (Preferred)
