Apply for your Certificate
Congratulations on completing your degree and/or teacher certification requirements! Now that you are finished, you must complete one more step to get your teacher certificate.
In order to obtain your certificate, you must:
•Apply online to the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) website, www.sbec.state.tx.us
•Pay the $77.00 application fee.
•Request a fingerprinting packet.
•Pay the $47.00 fingerprinting fee.
Texas State University recommends that you do the digital fingerprinting process, rather than the ink and paper process. (This requires an additional $9.95 fee, but the results come back within one week, rather than 4-6 weeks.)
