Computer Administered Tests (CAT)

CAT are the TExES exams that can be taken at computer test centers across the state. You should arrive AT LEAST 30 MINUTES EARLY TO THE TEST SITE. Test sessions are 5 hours long. Registration must be done at least 4 days in advance. Seating is on a space-available basis.

Once you have registered for CATs MAKE SURE you print out your Ticket at least 24 hrs in advance in case ANY changes have been made due to unforseen circumstances.

Texas State University San Marcos is a CAT site. DURING the REGISTRATION PROCESS, you will find the sites and dates for the CATs. Please do NOT contact the University as we will only be able to refer you to the ETS registration system for dates, times, locations, etc. You may take a CAT anywhere in the state, you are not bound to take it at Texas State if you are our student.
