If I'm approved to test once, do I still have to get approved again if I need to retake?
If you are "approved until manually removed" (See TEA/SBEC examination tab) then you can take it as many times until you pass it without having to request approval each time.
When can I take other exams outside my area?
Once you hold a Texas teacher's certificate.
What do half and full session tests mean (for paper based tests PBT)?
On each test day, there are two 5 hour test sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Half session tests are designed to be completed in less than 2.5 hrs. Texas State does NOT allow students to take TWO exams in ONE session. Therefore if you're taking TWO exams, you must request one be taken in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Other Pertinent Information:
You can NOT take two content area exams ON THE SAME DAY (ex. Math & PE)
You can NOT take three exams on the same day.
