Block Applications for Fall 2012 are not being accepted at this time.  Applications for spring registration will be accepted September 20th - October 3rd when schedule is available.

• ESL Block (CI 3332 & CI 4360) and/or ECE Block (ECE 4310 & ECE 4352)                                                   
• Bilingual Block I (CI 3332 and CI 4361) Students must be fluent in Academic Spanish.

• 4-8 Middle School Field-based Block
     
      1st  Block is at Walnut Springs Elementary or at Camino Real Elementary, RDG 3315 and
      RDG 4310.  The graduate sections are in Walnut Springs only RDG 5324 & RDG 5345.
      2nd Block is at Wallace or Simon Middle School, CI 3300 and CI 4300.  The graduate sections are 
      RDG 5322 & RDG 5323.
   
• EC-6 Elementary Field-based Block (CI 4325, RDG 3315, and RDG 3321) RDG 3320 must be 
      taken concurrently with this block except for SPED majors.  RDG 3320 for the Blazier Elementary
      School location you will be taken your RDG 3320 at Blazier.

• 8-12 High School Field-based Block (CI 4343, CI 4370, and RDG 3323) or GRAD CI 5370, CI 5363,
      & RDG 5324. SPED majors do not require CI 4370 but must attend and participate as if enrolled.        
      RDG 3323 for the Akins and Canyon blocks will be taught as a Hybrid course online and requires high
      speed web access.

Bilingual Block:  For EC6 Bilingual Block I, you will need to submit an Application for block placement.  Then for Bilingual Block II you will be cleared to register for Bilingual Block II if you've successfully completed the Bilingual Block 1 in Spring 2012.

Please Note: The field-based blocks may actually meet at slightly different times than the schedule indicates.  This is because your block is in a real school, and we follow the school’s schedule.  For example, you might be required to be at your block at 7:45 am and will be able to leave 15 minutes earlier than the schedule indicates.  What’s important is that the times your block instructor indicates on your syllabus are the times you’re required to be there.   Block instructors will email you or post on TRACS just  before the semester begins to tell you when and where to show up for the first class day—some blocks meet on campus the first days and other begin right away in the school.  For this reason, it will be important for you to monitor your txstate email during the week before classes start and/or check to see if the TRACS site is posted for your block.

How it works...
Applications will be taken down immediately after the deadline for processing prior to Fall Registration.  Students that applied during this period and met all the requirements will be notified (via email) of placement prior to the start of Fall  Registration.  Fall Registration will be anounced soon,  (Check registrar website for exact times when available).  If current Overall GPA or pre requisites are not met, students will not be able to participate in the block program.

Criminal Background Check - School Districts will perform criminal background checks on all Texas State students entering their schools. Please be aware if something in your history shows up the School District has the right to deny your entrance to the school.
