You must register and successfully pass the Graduate Comprehensive Examination during the semester that you plan to graduate.  Comprehensive exams are administered 3 times per year: October or November, February or March, June or July. All graduate elementary education majors must have completed or be enrolled in CI 5390 or CI 5313 (EC-6 CMED) in order to take the Elementary Comprehensive Exam.  Students majoring in special education should contact Dr. Larry Wheeler for their examination date. In order to be a qualified applicant for the examination, you must first register your intent to take the examination with the appropriate individual listed below.

• Elementary Education majors must register with Dr. Priscilla Crawford.
  • Summer 2012 comprehensive exam will be offered Monday, July 2, 2012, 9:00 - 1:00 in ED 2120 in San Marcos and at Avery 351 in Round Rock.
  • The deadline to register for the spring exam Monday, June 18, 2012.

  • Summer retake exams will be offered Friday, July 20, 2012, 9:00 - 1:00 pm in ED 2120 in San Marcos.  Retake exams are not offered at the Round Rock campus.  Note: The retake exam is NOT a choice for first time test takers, but only for students who do not pass the comprehensive exam on July 2, 2012.
  • The deadline to register for the Retake exam is Friday, July 13,2012.

• Secondary Education majors must register with Dr. Gene Martin
  • The spring exam will be offered Monday, July 2, 2012, 1:30 - 6:30 in ED 2120 in San Marcos.
  • The deadline to register for the exam is Monday, June 18, 2012.

  • The summer retake exam will be offered Friday, July 20, 2012, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in ED 2120. Retake exams are NOT offered at RRC. Note: The retake exam is NOT a choice for first-time test takers, but only for students who do not pass the comprehensive exam on July 2, 2012.
  • The deadline to register for the Retake exam is Monday, July 16, 2012.
