Since our beginning in 1998, the CTWP has applied research-informed instruction in all of our work with teachers and students. We are dedicated to the integration of reading/writing and the implementation of digital literacies in the classroom. We are keenly aware of shifting state and district policies and take those into consideration when we shape our menu of professional growth programs.
The CTWP offers professional development programs that are framed in the National Writing Project’s teachers-teaching-teachers model. Educators engage with CTWP Teacher Consultants to apply explore and apply current research-informed strategies. Our site encourages and supports teacher leaders who work together toward the betterment of school culture and classroom practices. We are distinct from most professional development programs in that we tailor our programs to the needs and interests of individual campuses as well as districts.
