Students who do not have a teaching certificate may be required to complete background courses before beginning graduate course work. A written comprehensive examination is required of all M.Ed. All students who pursue the Master of Education with a major in Secondary Education must select an academic minor. A list of minors may be found in the Graduate Callege catalog. When a minor is not selected, the default minor is the 12-hour Composite program. The Composite minor is the most popular minor among students who pursue the M.Ed. with a major in Secondary Education.
