Minor in Secondary Education with Certification
The minor in Secondary Education is designed to meet the needs of the student who is seeking a certificate to teach in the State of Texas. The student seeking licensure to teach will be required to have a Certification Plan prepared by an advisor in the Education Advisory Center. A certification student may also be required to take additional course work in a teaching field to satisfy certification requirements. The student must also pass the TExES (Texas Examinations of Educator Standards) both in professional development and in each teaching field(s) for which licensure is sought.
Please contact the Advising Center at 512-245-3050 to find out about preparing a deficiency (certification) plan. The website is: http://www.education.txstate.edu/advising
