Have The Courage To Make A Difference | |
| You can make a difference in the lives of children with special needs by choosing a career in SPECIAL EDUCATION. Special Education teachers work with public school students who have disabilities such as learning disabilities, emotional disturbance, autism, or developmental disabilities. The special education program at Texas State University-San Marcos is housed within the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Highly respected throughout the state, the Special Education program is designed to prepare future educators to meet the complex challenges of today's public schools. The Texas all-level Generic Special Education certificate allows teachers to teach students ages 3-21 with any type of disability. We offer both undergraduate and post-graduate programs that lead to this certificate. We welcome traditional students as well as those seeking a second career. Graduate students who wish to pursue advanced study in a particular area of special education may choose one of our new Master's concentration programs:
Note: Some of the special education courses are offered at the Round Rock Higher Education Center. So, if you're a smart person with a big heart, contact us. Become a special educator! | ![]() |
