The Kappa Delta Pi chapter at Texas State will receive its second consecutive Achieving Chapter Excellence (ACE) Award at the KDP national conference in October in Orlando. Kappa Delta Pi presents the award each biennium to "those chapters that meet stringent criteria and demonstrate excellence and dedication to the organization's ideals." Only 29 out of 667 chapters were named ACE Award winners. To be considered for the award, chapters must submit a portfolio that documents their work during the two-year period. The portfolios are assessed in six areas: leadership development, professional development, chapter programming, recognition of academic excellence, service, and promotion of inquiry and reflection. "This national award is a great testimony to the collective efforts of the students, faculty, staff, and administrators in our college and [Curriculum & Instruction] department," stated Dr. Nathan Bond, faculty co-sponsor of KDP. "On behalf of the chapter officers and members, thank you very, very, very much for your unwavering support of our work. When I interact with counselors at other universities, they always marvel at the wonderful support that the administrators at Texas State provide our chapter," stated Dr. Bond, who is President-Elect of Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education.
