Fall Initiation Ceremony

All students, parents, faculty and friends are cordially invited to attend the KDP Fall Initiation Ceremony in the LBJ Student Center Ballroom. At the event, the officers will initiate the new members of Kappa Delta Pi and announce this year’s KDP Educators of Honor. The event is required for students seeking membership in Kappa Delta Pi. “Kappa Delta Pie Dessert Luncheon”

“KDP Pen Pal Project”
Thursday, September 3 through early November in San Marcos
Are you interested in learning more about English language learners? Kappa Delta Pi members will write letters to a group of bilingual elementary students at Crockett Elementary School in San Marcos. The “pen pals” will write several letters over the course of two months and then meet in person at the end during an ice cream social. Members who participate in this project are strongly encouraged to attend the professional development meetings in September and October that focus on writing and ELLs. “Campus Tour for the Judson Learning Academy Students”
Friday, October 16 in San Marcos
Are you interested in learning more about at-risk students? Kappa Delta Pi members will host on the Texas State campus a group of high school students from Judson Learning Academy in San Antonio. The KDP members will attend selected classes with the students, tour the university’s campus, and then eat lunch in the dorms with the students. The goal of the project is for KDP members to learn more about at-risk students and the Judson students to learn about attending college. Scheduled from 9 to 1 pm.
