The Pearson website has dual English and Spanish resources, accessible by radio buttons on the first page of the website.
TimeRime allows users to create timelines that include text, images, audio, and video. One of the better features of TimeRime is that you can have more than one type of media for each event on your timeline. TimeRime users can also select which media type they want as the feature piece of each event. As we've come to expect with any web 2.0 tool of this type, you can embed the timeline in a blog or share it via email. TimeRime can be used in English, Spanish, or Nederlands.
United States Holocaust Memorial Museum
The site features online exhibitions on Jewish history specifically related to the Holocaust, as well as the history of other peoples. Virtual Museum of Arts El País/Museo Virtual de Artes El País
The Virtual Museum of Arts El País is a completely interactive virtual-reality style museum that has substantial “cool” factor. Visitors of the site can explore the entire museum by using the mouse courser to move and clicking on the exhibits. The entire tour is available in both English and Spanish. This site is sponsored by el País and has links in the newspaper as well.
When users log onto Kidlink, they must select the language they want. In addition to English, other options include Arabic, Spanish, German, Hebrew, and a few others. This is a well-designed program that works to develop life skills and international understanding. Students answer questions such as “How Do I Want the World to be Better When I Grow Up?” and share these answers with students from around the world. Registration of students and teachers is required for the program, but there is no charge for participation.
Models the process necessary to scaffold students’ evaluation, corroboration, and synthesis of multiple conflicting sources. Currently, the four units: Spanish American War, Scopes (Monkey) Trial, Social Security, and Rosa Parks/Montgomery Bus Boycott. Each unit has explicit step-like procedures for analyzing sets of sources, and printable graphic organizers help students corroborate sources. Historical Thinking Matters also provides printable resources such as primary texts written in modern English and Spanish versions.

La Escuela Electrónica/The Electronic Schoolhouse is a bilingual website for teachers focusing on the Latino experience in New York. Using historical records such as photographs, letters, flyers, broadsides and more dating from 1861 to the present, the website combines historical records and technology to promote the development of critical thinking skills, reading and writing skills, and understanding historical content and context. Funded through a grant from Time Warner, La Escuela Electrónica also has two introductory videos (in Spanish and English) explaining how teachers can use primary resources in their classrooms and the type of institutions that care for these one-of-a-kind materials.

Limited English Proficiency (LEP): A Federal Interagency Website
LEP.gov promotes a positive and cooperative understanding of the importance of language access to federally conducted and federally assisted programs. This website supports fair, reasoned and consistent implementation of Executive Order 13166, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VI), and the Title VI regulations regarding language access. This site also acts as a clearinghouse, providing and linking to information, tools, and technical assistance regarding limited English proficiency and language services for federal agencies, recipients of federal funds, users of federal programs and federally assisted programs, and other stakeholders.
Google Maps offers students a unique opportunity to view satellite images of almost anywhere in the world, from the Far East to their own neighborhoods! Google maps in Spanish allows students to play with and explore basic features like travel distances within countries, what businesses are located in different parts of the world (Want to know how many McDonald’s restaurants there are in Beijing?), and a number of other Google Maps staples in the Spanish language.

Are You Ready? An In-depth Guide to Citizen Preparedness (IS-22) is FEMA’s most comprehensive source on individual, family and community preparedness. The guide has been revised, updated and enhanced in August 2004 to provide the public with the most current and up-to-date disaster preparedness information available.

The guide can also be used as a study manual guide with credit awarded for successful completion and a 75 percent score on a final exam. Pan American Health Organization
The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) is an international public health agency with more than 100 years of experience in working to improve health and living standards of the countries of the Americas. It serves as the specialized organization for health of the Inter-American System. It also serves as the Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization and enjoys international recognition as part of the United Nations system.
PAHO has individual websites in over 40 countries, each in the country’s own language. Their main site can be accessed in both English and Spanish.
