Through the College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007, Congress created the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program that provides grants of up to $4,000 per year to students who intend to teach in a high needs field (Mathematics, Science, Special Education, Technology Applications, Foreign Language, Bilingual Education, English as a Second Language) in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families.
The TEACH Grant program will be implemented during the 2008-2009 academic year for only those students working on their first master's degree. Financial Aid and Scholarships will contact eligible students in the fall. This new program was created to assist students that are seeking degrees in high-need fields and anticipate teaching in those fields at the secondary or elementary level. For more details click here.
