Dr. Jon Lasser
Associate Dean for Research and Sponsored Programs
Jon assumed leadership of the College of Education Office of Research in August 2017. His goal for COERO is to build on the College's success by effectively and efficiently supporting COE faculty and students in all aspects of scholarly productivity, including individual, collaborative, and interdisciplinary research, proposal submission, grant administration, and manuscript preparation.
Jon holds a bachelor's degree in Plan II Honors from The University of Texas, a MSEd in Human Sexuality Education from The University of Pennsylvania, and Ph.D. in School Psychology from The University of Texas.
Jon joined the Texas State faculty in 2002 as an Assistant Professor in School Psychology Program. He was tenured and promoted to Associate Professor in 2008, and promoted to Professor in 2013. While at Texas State, he has served as the Program Coordinator for School Psychology (2010-2017) and Chair of the Institutional Review Board (2008-2017).
Jon's research focuses on diverse interests related to the practice of school psychology, including the development and experience of gay/lesbian/bisexual youth, visibility management, child/adolescent sexual development, and applied professional ethics. He has published three books and more than 40 research articles/chapters in peer-reviewed venues, made more than 30 research presentations, and procured more than $1,000,000 in internal and external grants.
