Fall 2009 - Spring 2010

Tuesday, September 22nd  (3:30-5p) – support session (1st year faculty only) – Education building – room 3070. 

Purpose – provide forum by and through which beginning faculty can pose questions and inquire about various topics/issues with peers in a supportive setting.

 

Wednesday, October 14th (11:30-1p) – Faculty Development Seminar on Mentoring (Mentor/Mentee pairs) – Education building – room 4061

Purpose – deliver information about mentoring and mentoring practices currently used in the COE and provide opportunity for mentoring pairs to get started/assigned   

 

Tuesday, October 20th (3:30-5p) – support session (2nd year faculty only) – Education building – room 3070

Purpose – provide forum by which and through which 2nd year faculty can pose questions and inquire about various topics/issues in a supportive setting

 

Tuesday, November 10th (Jowers conference room) – Wednesday, November 11th (COE Building room 4061) (both from 11:30-1p) – Faculty Development Seminar on Preparing/Reviewing Vitae (all faculty)

Purpose – deliver accurate information on vitae creation, maintenance and evaluation to ensure vitae are organized correctly for review

 

Tuesday, November 17th (3:30-5p) – support session (3rd year faculty only) – Education building – room 3070

Purpose – provide forum by and through which 3rd year faculty can pose questions and inquire about various topics/issues with a group of peers in a supportive setting

  

Tuesday, December 8th (3:30-5p) – support session (1st year faculty only) – Education building – room 3070

Purpose – provide forum by and through which beginning faculty can pose questions and inquire about various topics/issues with peers in a supportive setting.

 

Wednesday, December 9th (10:00 -12:00 pm) – Research Dialogue Series—Dr. Tom Carroll, president of National Council for Teaching and America’s Future – JCK, 11th floor.

Purpose – To provide faculty the opportunity to interact with a nationally known researcher around the topic of 21st century education in America and the role of higher education.

 

SPRING 2010

Tuesday, January 26th (3:30-5p) – support session (2nd year faculty only) – Education building – room 3070

Purpose – provide forum by which and through which 2nd year faculty can pose questions and inquire about various topics/issues with a group of peers in a supportive setting
 

Wednesday, January 27th (11:30-1p) – Grant symposium (all faculty) – Education building – room 4061

Purpose – provide a forum through which faculty can discuss grant agendas and ideas, seek collegial support and encouragement, and collaborate to address barriers and create supports beneficial to conceptualizing, conducting and reporting grant activities. This forum will be attended by three faculty who have successful records of grant writing and acquisition.
 
Tuesday, February 16th (3:30-5p) – support session (3rd year faculty only) – Education building – room 3070

Purpose – provide forum by which and through which 3rd year faculty can pose questions and inquire about various topics/issues with a group of peers in a supportive setting

Wednesday, February 24th (11:30-1p) – Research Roundtable (all faculty) – Education building – room 4061

Purpose – provide a forum through which faculty can discuss research agendas and ideas, seek collegial support and encouragement, and collaborate to address barriers and create supports beneficial to conceptualizing, conducting and reporting research.

Tuesday, April 13th (3:30-5p) – support session (1st year faculty only) – Education building – room 3070

Purpose – provide forum by which and through which beginning faculty can pose questions and inquire about various topics/issues with peers in a supportive setting.

Wednesday, April 28th (11:30-1p) – Research Symposium (all faculty) – Education building – room 4061

Purpose – provide forum through which faculty can present current research, discuss research interests and develop collaborative research initiatives
