Student Teaching Events
Student Teaching Preparation Modules
The Student Teaching Preparation Modules are available online! The Office of Educator Preparation no longer requires a face-to-face meeting, formerly known as Round Ups. Student Teachers must check their Texas State email accounts regularly for links to the modules prior to student teaching, or you can email firstname.lastname@example.org for access. Check your Texas State email regularly for updates. This is the official (and only) email address that the Office of Educator Preparation uses to communicate important student teaching requirements. If you have previously applied for student teaching but did not student teach, you must complete a new Student Teaching Application and watch the most recent Student Teaching Preparation Modules.
District Orientation For Student Teachers
DISTRICT ORIENTATION FOR STUDENT TEACHERS IS MANDATORY! You may NOT report to your student teaching assignment until you have met with the district. Check your Texas State email regularly for notifications about district orientations dates.
Most districts require student teachers to have current TB test results. It is your responsibility to ask at the orientation meeting whether TB test results are needed. If needed, you must have the negative test results before you may enter the school to begin student teaching.
Professional Development Day
Professional Development Day will be held a few weeks prior to the Teacher Job Fair each semester. Check your Texas State email regularly for updates.
