Dr. Jim Van OverscheldeCo-Director | Dr. Van Overschelde is leading the formative evaluation of the University’s educator preparation program, and is responsible for OEP’s data dissemination and reporting. Dr. Van Overschelde is also an assistant professor in Curriculum & Instruction teaching courses in research methods. His research interests include improving the quality of educator preparation, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education at the middle and high school levels, and in applying cognitive science research findings to the classroom in order to improve instruction and learning. Mr. Ernesto Munoz M. Ed.Certification Officer | Mr. Munoz recommends teacher, principal, counselor, and educational diagnostician candidates to the State Board for Educator Certification. He writes certification plans for all teacher candidates, verifies certification for out of state requests, and advises post-baccalaureate teacher candidates.
