Field Experience

All post-baccalaureate teacher certification students must be admitted to the Teacher Preparation Program and have a certification plan, which lists coursework and testing requirements for certification.  Remember that all students must complete field experience in public school during a long semester (spring or fall) prior to student teaching. Field experience gives students the opportunity for hands-on classroom experience prior to student teaching.

Students seeking elementary, middle school, and secondary certification should be available during the day in order to complete 30 hours of field experience.  Field experience should be completed during the first 9 hours of coursework.  Please view the following forms for more details.
