Eligibility
THE APPLICANT MUST Currently hold a degree in math, science, engineering, technology, or related degree. Have at least a 2.75 G.P.A. Commit to teach science or math in grades 4-12 in high needs schools* in Texas. Commit to become certified to teach in Texas in one of the following: 4th - 8th 8th - 12th NOTE: The applicant cannot be currently enrolled in another certification program. *High needs schools are defined by each school based on the number of students receiving free or reduced lunch. |
STEPS to complete in order to receive the McSTEM GRANT
1. Accepted as a Texas State University Student and meet the eligibility requirements for the grant by August 2011. 2. | AWARD A one-time stipend in the amount of $4000 will be awarded upon successful completion of 15 hours from the following courses towards certification in science and/or mathematics education. Must Take in Spring 2012CI 5333 The Secondary Curriculum (3-0) CI 5370 Classroom Management, Discipline, and Legal Issues Must Take in Summer 2012CI 5314 Advanced Human Growth and Development |
