Central Texas Writing Project

“Teachers need to understand writing as a complex (and enjoyable) form of learning and discovery, both for themselves and for their students. Faculty in all disciplines should have access to professional development opportunities to help them improve student writing.”

- The Neglected R: A Report from the National Commission on Writing

CTWP: The Power of Language

The Central Texas Writing Project (CTWP) is one of more than 200 sites of the National Writing Project. With sites at both the Texas State University San Marcos and Texas State University Round Rock campuses we are teachers, professors, administrators interested in enhancing literacy teaching practices through research-based professional development.

Why work with CTWP?

We apply research informed instruction in all of our work with teachers and students. We are dedicated to the integration of reading and writing and are aware of and take into consideration shifting state and district policies.
