Registration Advising
Texas State University-San Marcos expects students to take an active role in their academic careers. Planning a schedule and registering for classes is fundamental to your academic success and graduation. The more effort you invest in planning your schedule prior to registration, the more benefits you will receive. These steps will assist you in planning:
1. Generate and review your Degree Audit Report (DARS) to determine which classes remain for you to complete your degree.
2. Notice that some classes you've already taken are missing from your DARS? Have your transcripts sent from other institutions you've attended to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. If you took two years of the same foreign language in high school and your DARS says that you still need to satisfy the foreign language proficiency, then send your high school transcript to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
3. Use the advising worksheet for your major to assist you with planning your schedule. Be sure to check the course pre-requisites for all of the classes you are planning to take next semester.
