Topic: Dinosaur Defenses
Activity 1: Read Dinosaur, Dinosaur Activity 2: Introduction of Defenses
Assessment: During the activities, the teacher will make observations of the students' participation.
Topic: DinosuarDefenses Activity 1: The Drama of a Defenseless Animal
Activity 2:
Children Add Defenses to Their Animals 
Assessment:
Students are asked to identify the body structures and behaviors that helped dinosaurs defend themselves. Through dramatic play, students will use descriptive language to identify these animal defenses. The teacher can use the checklist to make sure each student understands what a defense mechanism is and can identify and describe one.
Topic:Dinosaur Defenses Activity 1: Children Add Defenses to Their Animals (continued from Tuesday)
Activity 2: The Drama of Animals with Defenses
Assessment:
Student will design their own defended animal by adding paper horns, spikes, teeth, etc. Teachers can measure understandnig by questioning students on their descriptoins of the defense mechanisms they create, and record their observations of student understanding in a mastery checklist.

Assessment:
Students can create scenarios with their defended animals made or toy animals, which will illustrate to the teacher if the students comprehend animal defenses and how they use it.
Topic: Animal/Dinosaur Defenses
Activity 1: Free play with animals made from previous days or stuff animals.
Assessment: While students are playing with their defended animals made on Wednesday and/or stuffed animals, the teacher can record their observations of student understanding in a mastery checklist.
