This GEMS guide, meant for early elementary classes like kindergarten or 1st, shows students the many ways that animals defend themselves in the wild.  By utilizing imaginary play, students come to understand the predator/prey relationship as well as the defensive structures and behaviors different animals exhibit.  The guide also differentiates between modern-day animals and dinosaurs for the students and allows students to compare and contrast the two.
