Calendar

Day 1: Monday

Lab Investigation: What is Oobleck? Students will have the chance to observe and investigate Oobleck and decide what properties it has.  (lesson time: 45 minutes)

Day 2: Tuesday

Scientific Convention: What are the Laws of Oobleck? Students will meet to establish “laws” of Oobleck.  (lesson time: 45 minutes)

Day 3: Wednesday

Spacecraft Design
The students will design a spacecraft that is able to land on an ocean of Oobleck.  The spacecraft must be able to explore the whole planet and take off again with all passengers aboard. (lesson time: 45 minutes)

Day 4: Thursday

Spacecraft Design Cont. and Spacecraft Presentations
-students will have time to finish up spacecraft design(25 minutes)
-the last portion of class, the children will be able to present their spacecraft design to the class(20 minutes)

Day 5: Friday

Scientific Methods: The class will learn what Oobleck consists of.  The teacher will reveal that Oobleck is mad up of cornstarch, water, and green food coloring.  The students will discuss how they behaved like scientists during each of the previous days working with Oobleck.  We will summarize everything we've learned about Oobleck. (lesson time: 45 minutes)
