COE Professor Honored for Educational Leadership, Social Justice Advocacy

Dr. Khalid Arar, a professor in the Department of Counseling, Leadership, Adult Education and School Psychology at Texas State University, has been honored with two prestigious awards for his contributions to educational leadership and social justice advocacy.

He was recognized by AERA with its 2024 Social Justice "Bridge People" Award for Leadership for Social Justice Special Interest Group. The award recognizes Arar's dedication to social justice principles in research, teaching and service within the educational community. This prestigious award recognizes his dedication to advancing social justice principles in research, teaching, and service within the educational community. 

Furthermore, Arar was ranked first in scholarly contributions at the College of Education level by the World University Ranking and received similar acclaim from the Stanford Global Scientist Ranking in 2023. These accolades underscore the profound impact of his research on a global scale, highlighting his commitment to unraveling the complexities of equity, diversity, and social justice in education across diverse contexts.
