COE Graduate Student Named Career Services' Graduate Student Employee of the Year

Texas State University graduate student Millie Muratalla was named the recipient of the Graduate Student Employee of the Year Award by Career Services. The accolade was presented to her at the 2024 Student Employee Appreciation Reception.

In her role as a Graduate Assistant for First Gen Proud within the Division for Student Success at Texas State University, Muratalla's outstanding contributions were recognized with an engraved award for personal possession. Additionally, her name will be featured on the Career Services website and engraved on a plaque located on the fourth floor of the LBJ Student Center, across from the Student Involvement Desk.

Muratalla, a student enrolled in the Master of Education program specializing in Student Affairs in Higher Education (SAHE), epitomizes the values upheld by the program, which aims to prepare graduates for careers in post-secondary and higher education student affairs and support services. Rooted in developmental and learning theory with a strong emphasis on social justice, the SAHE program promotes diversity and offers practical exposure to various careers in student affairs.

Aligned with the standards set by the Council for Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) and ACPA: College Student Educators International, the SAHE program at Texas State University is renowned for its comprehensive, cohort-based, application-oriented approach.
